Hi, I’m Victoria Robertson, founder of Victoria Robertson Consulting. With more than 25 years of experience in HR and business consulting across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and beyond, I partner with business owners, executive teams, and boards to strengthen organisational performance through practical, people-focused solutions that align people, culture, and business goals.
My work is grounded in strong values and a belief that organisations succeed when their people are supported to perform at their best. I bring a practical, pragmatic approach to helping businesses navigate change, address complex people challenges, and build strong, positive workplace cultures. At the centre of everything I do is a commitment to integrity, empathy, and building trusted relationships.

Outside of my professional work, life is full and very real. I’m a mum to a teenager and, like many people, now supporting my own mum as she gets older. I’ve been married to a proud southern Kiwi man for more than 15 years and have loved calling the beautiful city of Dunedin, Ōtepoti, home for over a decade.
Community connection is also important to me. I’m a member of PINC Dunedin, co-host WiBO (Women in Business Otago), support the 100+ People Who Care Dunedin, and contribute to the People and Culture Committee for Cancer Society Southern.

Qualifications
Victoria holds multiple tertiary qualifications, including a Bachelor of Applied Management, majoring in Change Management, and Graduate Diplomas in HR Management and Mental Health, all with Distinction. She continues to invest in her professional growth through governance, leadership, and specialist HR training, and is accredited in a range of psychometric and leadership assessment tools and holds a current Private Investigator licence.
Skills & Expertise
I work across the full people and culture spectrum, including change management, compliance, leadership development, employee engagement, and workforce well-being. I design and embed strategies that connect people with organisational objectives, and I deliver tailored coaching and training programs in leadership, communication, conflict management, and mental health awareness.
Philosophy
My philosophy is simple. I empower leaders and employees to thrive, helping create workplaces that are not only compliant and productive, but also engaging, supportive, and fulfilling for everyone involved, focusing on values and treating individuals as the unique human beings they are.
Experience
I’ve supported clients across a wide range of sectors, from major organisations such as Dunedin International Airport, PW Engineering, DHMC/BGIS, and Dunedin City Council, to small and medium enterprises. My adaptable approach ensures solutions that are both people-centred and commercially effective.
Track Record
Earlier in my career, I held senior leadership roles at organisations including MYOB, Kelly Services, and Hudson, and I’ve co-owned and led HR and recruitment firms. I hold a Bachelor of Applied Management majoring in Business Transformation and Change, Sales and Marketing, a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, and a Graduate Diploma in Social Services (Mental Health). These experiences and qualifications give me a deep understanding of the challenges business owners face in building resilient, high-performing workplaces.
